Mysuru: V Bharathi Mouli, whose mother tongue is Telugu, learnt Kannada just so that she could take up a Veena exam. The dedication fetched her a gold medal in the final year BA Veena exam. She emerged as a topper in the BA Veena department organised by the Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University.
“When I was in Andhra Pradesh, I was interested in learning the Veena but after getting married I moved to Mysuru. I was interested to further continue Veena in Mysuru but I didn’t know Kannada. Later, after meeting A S Padma, my Veena guru, she motivated me to take up a course at the Music University. After learning Kannada, I joined the Music University and enrolled for BA in Veena. With the support of my husband, parents and my guru A S Padma, today I managed to excel in the field. I want to take up PG in Veena”, she said.
V Mouli, who works as the head of the Confederation of Indian Industry and is the proud husband of Bharathi said, “She managed to achieve this feat because of her dedication and a lot of sacrifice.”
She received the gold medal from Governor Vajubhai Vala during the third annual convocation of Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University held at Nityotsava Convention Centre here on February 15.
