Mysuru: After having been defeated in the recently concluded Karnataka Assembly by-polls, Hunsur’s BJP candidate A H Vishwanath (formerly of the JD(S)) has decided to publish a book on the disqualification row.
Taking a jibe at the media and the BJP’s rivals, Vishwanath, on Tuesday, December 17, said “The media and the Opposition parties highlighted the 17 MLAs indulging in ‘anti-party’ activities, which continued even during the by-election campaigns. This led to the issue of the 17 MLAs’ disqualification being blown out of proportion. They have misguided the electorate by repeatedly terming us as ‘disqualified’.”
“Nevertheless, out of the 15 Assembly seats, 12 seats were swept by the disqualified MLAs. The voters gave a befitting reply to all those who accused us and humiliated us. In order to make the commoner aware of the disqualification and –’anti-party’ stand, I will write a book,” he added.
Meanwhile, he has said that, although he had managed to get 54,000 votes, he is proud of at least making the BJP’s base strong in the Hunsur constituency.
It can be recalled that Congress candidate H P Manjunath had defeated Vishwanath with a margin of 39,727 votes in the by-polls.
