Two tigers found dead in Nagarhole Tiger Reserve

Mysuru: Two tigers have reportely died in Nagarhole Tiger Reserve over the last 24 hours.

Forest officials found the carcass of a male tiger in the forests of Anechowkur range on Tuesday with an injury on its neck.

It is suspected that the tiger must have died after a fight with another tiger.

The tiger was around 9-year-old.

A tigress, aged around 12, was found dead Kachavinahalli forests in Hunsur wildlife division near here on Wednesday. This is expected to be a natural death as the tigress had aged and its lower canines had worn out with some broken teeth.

Forest officials said that the viscera would be sent for forensic test to tule out foul play.
