Mysuru: Two men, posing as policemen relieved an elderly woman of her gold chain near a temple in the city on September 12.

Nagarathnamma (65), a resident of Saraswathipuram is the unfortunate loser.

At the entrance of Krishnadhama temple, Nagarathnamma noticed two men standing in police clothes, who alerted her of huge rush inside the temple. They requested her to handover her jewels to ensure safety and collect them on her way back. They exchanged few valuables in front of her to gain her confidence at the same time. Trusting them, Nagarathanmma handed over her gold chain weighing 32 grams and bangles after recalling police instructions to remain cautious at crowded locations.

On her return, Nagarthnamma found the duo missing, leaving behind only bangles. Immediately, she lodged a complaint at the Saraswathipuram police station.

Further investigations are in progress.
