Mysuru: Brahma, the tiger that was adopted by yoga guru BKS Iyengar, died of old age at the Mysuru zoo on Friday, July 24.
The tiger, who was 20 years old, was reportedly in the zoo for the past 12 years.
TOI reports, Mysuru Zoo executive director Ajit Kulkarni informed that the tiger was rescued by the forest the department in 2008 from the Teralu village of the Virajpet taluk, Kodagu district.
Brahma was later adoped by BKS Iyengar.
Tigers in the wild generally live for 12 years.
