Mysuru: Following the adverse drought and flood conditions across Karnataka, the state government has decided to celebrate the world-famous Mysuru Dasara in a simple manner.
The first meeting in this regard will be held on August 9 at the Vidhana Soudha. Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa will preside over the meeting.
According to sources, the state government has decided not to spend much on the Dasara celebrations as the state is currently reeling from severe climatic conditions.
“Instead of calling it simple, the state government is likely to use the term ‘traditional Dasara’” explained sources in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
