Mysuru: “When former chief minister Siddaramaiah wanted to finish my political career where were these Kuruba community leaders and Swamijis? Seers favouring and speaking against particular community and leaders is not right,” said Janata Dal (S) MLA Vishwanath.

Speaking to media persons after attending a meeting at Zilla Panchayat, he said, “Swamijis should stop speaking against particular politicians and bureaucrats. It’s an unfortunate development in recent days. Some speak in favour of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and some speak in favour of former CM Siddaramaiah. Seers should be impartial in their approach. I also belong to Kuruba community. Where was Kuruba community and Swamiji when Siddaramaiah tried to finish my political career. Who constructed the matt for Kurubas and who anointed the Swamiji?”

He also mentioned that it was natural that when a new government comes to power, transfers and change of guard are done. According to me, the transfer was not made on the basis of any community. “How many Kuruba community politicians or bureaucrats were benefited during the previous government. In fact, many were suppressed”, added Vishwanath.
