Mysuru: The very Chamundeshwari Constituency, which gave political rebirth to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will ensure that he meets his waterloo, predicted Janata Dal (Secular) State President H D Kumaraswamy.

CM is vacating the Varuna seat to accommodate his son Yatindra but the electorate will ensure both are packed back simultaneously and sent home, said Kumaraswamy. “Neither me nor the party candidate G T Devegowda will work for his defeat as the people themselves will show them the way home,” added HDK said.

Accusing the CM of resorting to “resort politics” to lure leaders from his party by paying huge amounts of money, HDK said that he would not opt for such tactics and also not campaign the way CM did few days ago, spending 5 days at a stretch in his constituency.

CM falling off from the chair during campaign is an omen to indicate his imminent downfall, HDK remarked sarcastically.

Meanwhile, he justified his decision to contest from both Ramanagar and Channapatna constituencies owing to pressure from party workers. It has become inevitable as the party had decided to field only two candidates from the family, he said.

Accusing the State Election Commission of working on the diktat of CM and Adviser to Home Minister Kempaiah, , HDK said the SEC had lost its sting.

He also ruled out alliance with NCP, Shivsena and MES parties and said the decision to not field candidates from Gundlupet and Nanjangud constituencies is a part of the political strategy.
