SDMIMD students donate blood in annual blood donation camp-1Mysuru: As part of the student’s social responsibility and to sensitise students towards the societal cause Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysuru, in association with HDFC, conducted its annual blood donation camp at its Wellness Centre here on Friday, November 8. More than 70 students voluntarily donated blood during the camp.

There are more than 300 students studying at SDMIMD and most of them are very eager to donate blood. If anybody is in need of blood, the students send an alert in their WhatsApp groups. Eight years ago, the students, along with the management decided to have an annual blood donation camp after realising its importance.

On Friday, boy and girls from the institution came forward to donate blood. The camp began at 10 AM. Student coordinator T Revanth, who is pursuing her final year PGDM at SDMIMD, donated blood regularly. She said, “Around 70 students, including girls, came forward to donate blood. Each student donated an average of 180 ml of blood. We have seen many patients dying because they were unable to get blood on time. This kind of blood donation camps will really help."
