Bengaluru: In a sudden development, the state government appointed state endowment commissioner Rohini Sindhuri as the new DC of Mysuru.
Incumbent DC B Sharat was appointed on August 29, 2020 and was transferred within a month.
According to the sources, a decision to send Rohini to Mysuru was taken following a huge surge in the number of Covid-19 cases in the district.
Presently, Mysuru is reporting second highest number of cases after BBMP limits. This is the cause of concer because Mysuru has population, which is ten times lesser than BBMP.
The district is also gearing up to host the world famous Mysuru Dasara festival.
The new DC visited the hilltop Chamundeshwari temple on Chamundi Betta and offered prayers, on Tuesday, September 29.
She was accompanied by her husband Sudheer Reddy.
