H D Kote: Just two days after it was reported that an adult tiger had allegedly mauled three people to death in villages under Dodda Byrankuppe Grama Panchayat, one more similar incident has been reported on Monday.
The Forest Department had rescued the tiger which had allegedly mauled three people, and now there is another on the loose.
Reportedly, on Monday, February 4 morning, a tiger suddenly appeared on the road near Thimmanahosahalli and chased a man, who was walking on the road. Fortunately, the man identified as Venkategowda, had a narrow escape. Later it entered a cowshed belonging to Shivanna and tried to attack his son who saved himself by running into the house. The big cat has killed a two-year-old calf in the shed and dragged it away.
The villagers are panic-stricken after the incident and suspect whether a tiger had actually been rescued by the Forest Department. They claim that the man-eater is still on the prowl.
Meanwhile, the Forest Department personnel have started a combing operation led by Range Forest Officer Subramanya.
