Mysuru: In what may be seen as a slight relief for current Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has postponed the hearing of former district DC B Sharath’s transfer challenge.
It can be recalled that Sharath was replaced by Rohini Sindhuri within just 29 days of his appointment. He had challenged his sudden transfer order by moving the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT), seeking the cancellation of his transfer. He claimed that the state government had not stated a valid reason for the transfer and posted IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri as the new DC.
The CAT, which is investigating the matter, postponed the hearing to October 16 without trial due to technical reasons.
It is reported that the CAT began the trial online considering the ongoing coronavirus crisis, however, the statements made by the parties concerned were vaguely heard due to technical reasons.
The hearing was, therefore, postponed and the CAT instructed the plaintiffs to appear before the court.
