Mysuru: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, around 25 visually challenged students from Ranga Rao Memorial School for Differently Abled (RRMSD) and nearly 500 employees of Cycle Pure Agarbathies participated in an initiative organised by the District Administration at Mysore Race Course on June 21.

A week-long training was provided by a Yoga instructor appointed by the District Administration to the students of RRMSD. It takes skill and planning for a teacher to train the visually challenged students. The instructions to blind students should be clear, concise and direct, giving an overview of the pose and a sense of its direction, which was very well taken care of by the instructor.

Commenting on the initiative, Arjun Ranga, Managing Director, Cycle Pure Agarbathies, says, “Yoga is a lifestyle option that people from all walks of life and age brackets should adopt. Our city, Mysuru is deeply rooted in the ancient practice of Yoga; hence it certainly qualifies as, ‘World’s Yoga Capital.’ We appreciate this initiative taken by the administration and extend our support wholeheartedly. Our entire team and the students were very excited to perform on International Yoga Day for which they were given prior professional training as well.”

“Yoga helps me in composing my mind and soul; it energizes the brain. This is my second year in a row in this event and I am glad to be a part of it. The vibe and excitement among the people here is infectious. I would really want to participate in International Yoga Day next year too”, said Padma, Class IX student, RMSD.

Apart from extending their support to this activity, Cycle Pure Agarbathies also encourage their employees and students to inculcate healthy practices like Yoga in their day to day life. Yoga is an ancient Indian act that rejuvenates body and soul; it helps in regaining inner-peace. This Indian ancient practice enables people to relax.

Speaking about the event, another student Gayathri, Class X student, RMSD adds, “I am attending this event from its first edition and I am happy to be a part of it. Yoga for me is a way of life; practicing Yoga refreshes my mind. Today, performing together with so many people was just amazing.”
