Hunsur: Rains caused severe damage to banana, coconut and arecanut crops in Haravekallahali area of Gavadagere Hobali last night.
Roofs of more than ten houses of the village were damaged by the rain. Roofs of few houses have flown away in the heavy breeze. Coconut trees have fallen on two houses and caused severe damage to the roof. More than ten electric poles have been damaged. The power supply was stopped to the village after the rains.
Tahashildar Basavaraju and Deputy Tahashildar Lokesh, RI Sanjeevamurthy and village accountant Vijetha visited the village along with revenue department and forest department officials and ascertained the damage caused.
