Mysuru: Sitting Member of Parliament of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Pratap Simha filed his nomination, here on Monday, March 25.
In the morning, he visited the Sri Chamundeshwari Temple, located on the Chamundi Hills, along with his wife and daughter. He also visited the Suttur Mutt and sought the blessings of Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, following which he visited the Kote Anjaneya Temple and offered puja. He then made his way to the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office in a procession, to file his nomination.
Simha was accompanied by former deputy chief minister R Ashok, MLAs S A Ramadas and Appachu Ranjan and former speaker of the Legislative Assembly K G Bopaiah.
He handed over his nomination papers to the DC and Returning Officer Abhiram G Shankar.
“My achievements will help me win the elections,” he told reporters and informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be campaigning in the district soon.
Former deputy chief minister R Ashok said, “Because it is Modi, it is confirmed that the BJP will emerge victorious yet again. The people have understood that Modi is the need of the hour and for this reason, they will definitely support him.”
Lauding the work implemented by Simha, he said, “Pratap Simha has been successful in implementing almost all the Central government schemes in the district. Because of his efforts and working style, he will become a parliamentarian once again”.
“The people of the state are now aware of whom they should support, as a cold war continues between the state coalition partners- Congress and Janata Dal (S). The Congress party is not ready to campaign for former prime minister and JDS Supremo H D Devegowda”, he added.
