Mysuru: Sandalwood actor and Prajakiya party chief, Upendra began campaigning here on Tuesday, April 2.
Before beginning his campaign, he visited Sri Chamundeshwari Temple located on Chamundi Hills and offered prayers.
Speaking to media, he said that Mandya had become the epicenter of politics and because of this reason he would begin his campaigning from there.
He said, “We have already placed candidates in several districts and I will begin my campaigning from Mandya for our candidate from here.”
Reacting to the questions of coalition candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy being an actor and contesting the election, he said, “Choice of candidates is purely the prerogative of a particular political party. I am here to support my candidate.”
He said that his party’s agenda was to change the definition of ‘king’ and ‘citizen.’
Upendra said, “A king is always said to rule and his people have to remain silent. We are here to change the dynamics.”
