Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB ), while arresting a gang of dacoits, unearthed a supari driven murder plot by them in Metagalli Industrial area limits on March 20.
CCB team, during the wee hours of March 20 came across a gang of three in a car, attempting burglary in Metagalli Industrial area limits. Nagalingaswamy (35), a resident of Mandya district, Raghavendra (32) of Bengaluru and Subramani (48) of Hassan were nabbed.
During interrogation, they admitted to having been deputed by an undertrial to execute a murder. They revealed that Basavaraj lodged in city jail after receiving a supari amount had asked the trio to kill Naveen, a Bengaluru based businessman.
Basavaraj is serving a jail term in a murder case where he is accused of having killed Mahesh, son of Mandya based businessman Rangaswamy.
The CCB team is interrogating Basavaraj to extract more details on the murder plot and supari payment.
