Mysuru: By making unnecessary and irrelevant allegations against the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman wants to close the HAL, charged Congress Vice President and Spokesperson K E Radhakrishna.

The Congress and BJP have been exchanging taunts over the Rafale Aircraft Deal with Radhakrishna accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of changing the entire deal to benefit a businessman. Addressing media persons at Press Club here on Thursday, Radhakrishna said “It’s not right on the part of Defence Minister Nirmala Seetharam to frame unnecessary allegations against Congress with regard to Rafael Deal. It seems like she has decided to close down HAL by resorting to such means. Last four and years, that is, since BJP came to power in the country, people are facing one or the other problems. To start with, it was demonetisation which resulted in loss of many lives and several became unemployed. Later the GST, also created a lot of confusion and hardship among not only businessmen but also general public.” He also alleged that the central government had neglected the interests of public sector HAL.

“Soon after assuming power Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Acche Din and Sabka Vikas, I just want to know from Modi and Amith Shah when people will get that Acche Din and Sabka Vikas. Going by all this, BJP is definitely going to lose the coming parliamentary election. BJP leaders just are just coming out with all sorts of promises but in reality most of these are yet to be fulfilled even after four and half years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amith Shah are just focusing on the growth of Industrialists like Ambani and Adani and not bothered about common people. Modi is also trying to get China model in India which he will not succeed in”, added Radhakrishna.

‘Of the 15 projects only one taken by Pratap Simha’s’

“While presenting his progress report, he has listed 15 works which he claims to have been introduced during his tenure which is far from true. Among the 15 projects, 14 were started well before he took charge as MP and was brought by previous Member of Parliament and state government. Pratap Simha soon after getting elected, assured people to provide 2 crore job opportunities but it is yet to become a reality. Though they have failed to take up any developmental works, they are good in marketing and telling lot of lies to the people which will not help them for long. People will definitely teach BJP a lesson in the forthcoming parliament election”, said Radhakrishna.

‘Modi-Shah trying to victimise D K Shivakumar’

“BJP leaders led by Modi are involved in misusing government machineries. Inorder to weaken Shivakumar who is known to solve any problem in the party and has got good rapport with almost all MLAs not only within the party but also in other parties, BJP leaders led by Amith Shah are using the central government agencies to indict him and topple the government. BJP can’t succeed in their endeavours as all MLAs in the coalition government want the government to complete its full term”, he said.

Senior Congress leaders Vasu, MYLAC former chairman H A Venkatesh, M Lakshman and City Congress President Murthy were also present.
