Mysuru: The JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru secured the 37th rank among the universities (University Category) in India and ranked 3rd in Karnataka. It is the only institution from Mysuru to make it to the national list in the National Institutional Ranking Frame Work conducted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The results were announced on April 3.
This is for the third time that it has maintained its position among the top 50 universities of India consecutively. Speaking to Newskarnataka, Suresh, Vice Chancellor of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research said, “It was announced on Tuesday. Last year, we stood 45th while this year we have improved our ranking by securing 37th rank. We managed to improve our ranking because of team work and focus on relevant quality education. In days to come, our focus is to be among the top 20 universities in the country and in another five years, among top 500 in world universities.” It stands 59th in the overall ranking in the country.
He also mentioned that the JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru, ranked 10th among 346 colleges in India and 2nd in Karnataka while the JSS College of Pharmacy in Ooty in Tamil Nadu ranked 15th among the 346 pharmacy colleges in India and 1st in Tamil Nadu.
University of Mysore not figuring among top 100 universities:
The University of Mysore which ranked 36 (university category) among 774 universities in the country last year, was the only conventional public university from Karnataka to have figured in NIRF Ranking-2017. It stood 57th in the overall ranking in the country then but this year it has not even figured in the top 100 ranking.
