Mysuru: N Vishnvardhan has taken over as the New Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) in Mysuru city replacing Dr. H T Shekar.
The change came into force after Dr. H T Shekar was moved to Anti–Corruption Bureau (ACB) as Superintendent of Police (SP). The New DCP who had earlier served as the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) had drawn wide appreciation from the public after he reined in elements involved in illegal activities in and around Chamundi Hills. Vikram Amte, DCP (Traffic) welcomed Vishnuvardhan at the DCP office.
Speaking on the occasion, New DCP Vishnuvardhan said adequate security arrangements would be made for Dasara festival. Anti-social elements and organisations inciting violence and disturbing peace would be sternly dealt with, he warned.
