Mysuru: Christmas is a festival that is celebrated with lot of gaiety and fanfare across the world. Mysuru is not holding back in the season’s extravaganza and is all geared up for the celebrations with a cake festival.
With only a few days left for Christmas, people witnessed a variety of cakes and sweets on display in markets in the city.
Adding to the fervor, Mysuru Maharaja College has come up with a cake festival and people from all walks of life were today, December 23, witnessed rushing towards this exhibition.
The cake festival displayed different varieties of cake including wedding cakes, lover’s cakes, Mango cakes, candy cakes and many more.
A rare kind of cake called the ‘Clock cake’ which was the highlight of the festival has, according to the organizers used 2,080 Kg of icing sugar.
The delicious cakes were prepared by a team of 6 including Satyan from Kerala. The wedding cake weighing 1,500 kg has attracted cake lovers at the event.
The team specializes in making models of various objects and buildings.
The cake festival is being organised since 8 years and has earlier seen preparations of the London Bridge, Mysore Palace, Lalitha Mahal palace and Taj Mahal model cakes.
