Mysuru: The corona epidemic is spreading in Mysuru, and now it is has been confirmed that District Commissioner Dr Amarnath has been tested positive. In in regard, the DHO office in Nazarbad was sanitized and sealed on Saturday, April 17.
Dr Amarnath, who had been ill for two days, was tested and on Friday night the report came out that he was covid positive. He is being treated at home and is in home isolation. His crew that was worried has been tested on Saturday April 17.
More people are coming forward for covid tests, with the Corona 2nd wave spreading furiously. This has led to tests beyond the district’s target. The state government has given the district the target of testing 5000 per day. The district is conducting 5500 to 7000 tests every day. Thus, a large number of corona cases are coming to light.
The public are volunteering for the test in the centres opened in the city at the Town Hall and Krishnamurtipuram along with the children and rest of the family.
“In the past, we had encouraged people to get tested but no one was coming forward. The contacted did not even bother to come even after they come in contact with infected. We are very surprised that people are taking a self-examination,” said Dr S Chidambara, District Surveillance Officer.
The persons who have come in contacted with an infected person, of telephones come immediately and get checked, he said. He added that the second wave have changed the people’s attitude towards the pandemic. Coronavirus infection, on the other hand, has been confirmed in four staff members of the north subregistrar office. The officials of the subregistrar office, which is visited by hundreds of people every day, is worried on how to identify Corona sufferers.
The confirmed infected are one female and three outsourced employees (operators) of the northern sub-registrar’s office in the city’s Nazarbad premises.
