Mysuru: The fate of 391 candidates who contested Mysuru City Corporation election in 65 wards will be known on Monday, September 2. The counting will be held at Maharani’s College of Commerce and Management on Valmiki Road. The counting will start at 8 AM and is expected to be completed by the afternoon.
More than 1000 people will be engaged for the counting process. All the results are expected to be out by afternoon. It will be a triangular fight between Congress, BJP and Janata Dal (S). During the previous corporation election, Congress won 22 seats followed by JD (S) with 20 seats and BJP 12 seats, SDPI 2 seats, KJP and BSR one seat each and independent 7 seats.
During this election, the situation almost remains the same and it is difficult to predict who will win the highest number of seats. The victory margin will be just a few votes, it is believed.
Elaborate security arrangement: Police have made elaborate security arraignment at the vicinity of the voting centre. Traffic has been banned on this stretch.
