Mysuru: Former IPS officer, local Congressman Revanna Siddaiah quit the party and set the stage to fight against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah by supporting the JDS.

Revanna Siddaiah, who resigned from the primary membership of the party on Sunday, announced his decision in a press conference. He said that he would support G T Devegowda in Chamundeshwari and will support BJP candidate in Varuna. “I don’t oppose the Congress as a party, but CM Siddaramaiah is my rival. He treated me like a pet animal. Now, he has come to throw biscuits again during the election,” he expressed disappointment.

A few days ago, B.S.Yeddyurappa’s son B Y Vijayendra had met Revanna Siddaiah and requested his support to the BJP. Soon after that Dr.Yathindra, son of CM Siddaramaiah met Revanna Siddaiah at his residence and discussed for more than one hour and Yathindra had requested the former cop to stay in the party.

Lingayat community leader Revanna Siddaiah has his own fan following in Chamundeshwari as well as in Varuna constituency.
