Mysuru City Corporation receives Swachhata certificate

Mysuru: Mysuru City Corporation received the Swachhata certificate from the officers of the Union Ministry of Urban Development at a programme held at the Town Hall on Tuesday, September 27. The Swacchata certificate was handed over to Mayor B L Bhyrappa in the presence of District in-charge Minister H C Mahadevappa.

Mysuru city which was recently declared as the first open defecation-free (ODF) city in the 10 lakh population category in a survey conducted by the Quality Council of India, formally received the Swacchata certificate from Abhinav Yadav of QCI.

Mahadevappa said, “It is another feather in cap of Mysuru. We have been the cleanest city for the past two consecutive times and have adopted a few processes. We need to continue in the same regard in the coming years and must stand as a model to other cities”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will present the award to the MCC authorities at a function which will be held in New Delhi on September 30.
