With the handover of 23 private layouts this year, i.e., during 2017-18 financial year, a total of 68 including 45 few months ago have come under MCC. The corporation which is already providing basic infrastructure will continue to provide much better facilities including cleaning, streetlight and water to these layouts. Through collection of various taxes including building license it will earn an additional revenue of Rs 10 Crore every year. Apart from this, the people residing in these layouts can heave a sigh of relief as they can approach corporation for any works which need to be undertaken in their layouts.

Speaking to Newskarnataka, Kantharaju, Commissioner, MUDA, said, “For the last eight to ten years, due to delay in completion of the works, these layouts could not be handed over to the corporation. However, now apart from few minor works, almost all the works are completed and hence it was handed over to the corporation. All the layouts which were handed over on Wednesday are private layouts. Now almost all layouts have been handed over. With the handing over of these layouts, the public will benefit more.”

The layouts were handed over in the presence of Deputy Commissioner D Randeep and Corporation Commissioner Jagadeesha.
