MTB Nagaraj funded Operation Kamala: Siddaramaiah

Mysuru: In a sarcastic dig at rebel MLA MTB Nagaraj, former chief minister Siddaramaiah said that Nagaraj did not receive any money from BJP under ‘Operation Kamala’, instead he was the one who funded the horse-trading and it is due to this reason that CM BS Yediyurappa has special ‘love’ for MTB.
The reaction came after MTB, who is contesting the by-polls from Hosakote recently said that he is not obligated to the Congress, instead, it is the Congress leaders who have taken loans from him and are hence obligated to him.
Reacting to MTB’s statement, Siddramaiah said, “I haven’t taken any loan from MTB. Krishna Byregowda has already repaid his loan. The people are watching and talking about these rebel MLAs. They have themselves confessed that they have joined the BJP for money. I am only raising valid questions during the campaigning for voters to think over and cast votes wisely. The voters will not value these rebels. They will be shown the door soon. All the 15 rebels contesting the polls will be defeated.”
He further said that this time the by-polls are far from being fair because a lot of money is being spent by the BJP to purchase voters. “We have seen sarees and cookers that were confiscated. A lot of money is being used this time,” he said adding that BSY cannot fool people with his empty promises anymore.
Talking about MLA GT Devegowda, Siddaramaiah said that he will first hold a talk with GTD and understand the reasons behind his decision to distance himself from politics.
Further, speaking about the Kuruba row, he said that Minister Madhuswamy should have apologized to the Kuruba (shepherd community) community members. “Why is the CM asking for an apology on behalf of Madhuswamy,” he questioned urging people not to paint the issue with communal and political colors.
