Mysuru: Even as the BJP members have been asked to stay away from the oath taking ceremony of new Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, BJP MP Pratap Simha has left eyebrows raised through his twitter post congratulating Congress Leader G Parameshwar, who will be sworn-in as deputy CM along with HDK, later today, May 23.

“Congress leader G Parameshwar to be Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister. Congratulations Sir. Most deserving person,” read the twitter post of the MP.

The drama that unfurled in the state post the assembly poll results had widened the rift between the BJP, the Congress and the JDS.

The BJP emerged as the single largest party in the assembly with 104 seats. But, the Congress and the JD(S) joined hands together to form the government, thereby dampening the dreams of already sworn-in Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa of proving the majority in the assembly. In s turn of events, BSY tendered his resignation to the post of CM mere two days after being sworn-in and the Congress and the BJP went ahead to form the government.

HDK is due to take the oath on Wednesday, May 23 and while top leaders from various regional as well as national parties have been invited, the BJP has decided to observe ‘anti-mandate day’ on May 23, holding protests across the state.
