Mysuru: Trying to evade a cyclist on the road, a SUV swerved off the road and plunged into Kapila canal near Halugada of H D Kote taluk August 7. Fortunately, all passengers escaped with minor injuries.
Resident of Nanjanagud, Doreswamy accompanied by his brother and two children escaped with minor injuries after the car plunged into the canal. They were returning to Nanjanagud after offering prayers at a temple on Chikkadevamma Hills near Saragur when the incident took place.
At the same time, the cyclist speaking on a cell phone approached the Kapila canal area. The speeding SUV in the process of evading him, swerved off the road to hit the barriers before plunging into the canal, where water levels were low.
The injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Mysuru and all are said to be out of danger.
