Mysuru: Reiterating that all is well in the coalition house, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has said that the government is going to easily complete its five-year term, under the direction of former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Speaking during a book release function in Mysuru, here on Sunday he said that ever since the coalition government came to power in the state, the BJP has been trying to destabilize the government. “They are trying all sorts of tricks, but they will not be successful,” he said adding that the BJP and the media have pained the government beyond words.

The CM opined that there was a need to bring in regulations on media, especially electronic media. “They have been making irrelevant allegations against politicians. The government, at this juncture, was mulling over forming laws to bring control over the media,” he said.

The CM said, “Usually I have been the one who would speak to media, but in recent days, due to irresponsible reporting by electronic media, I have stopped addressing them. Though former minister Vishwanath said that even Prime Minister Narendra Modi was scared to address the media, it is not the case with me. Due to their irresponsible reporting, especially about politicians, I have stopped paying attention to media persons, ” he said.

The chief minister spoke about the precautionary measures being taken up at Kodagu to avoid problems during monsoon and also said that for the flood victims of Kodagu, already 800 houses were being constructed, each at a cost of Rs 10.5 lakh.
