MCC to come up with Rain Water Harvesting theme park

Mysuru: The Mysuru City Corporation will be coming out with a ‘theme park’ at Hinkal Park, Ring Road with the aim of educating people about the importance of Rain Water Harvesting. The theme park will be constructed through the CSR fund at an estimated cost of Rs three crore. The park will provide information about rainwater harvesting and energy conservation.

The two-acre park land, which belongs to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority will be handed over to the Mysuru City Corporation, who in turn will take up the project. A model building will also come up and there will be catchy pictures of RWH and energy conservation.

Speaking to Newskarnataka Jagadeesh, Commissioner, Mysuru City Corporation said that an oral approval in this regard has been given by the Automotive Axles and other companies and during their next meeting they have assured to get the projects approved. He mentioned that Detailed Project Report has also been done and the MUDA has agreed to give two-acre park to the Corporation.

Shobana Sambasivan, Working President of Mysore Grahakara Parishat said “Instead of taking up projects like Disneyland it is appreciable if initiatives like the theme park are taken up. The concept can also be emulated in different localities of Mysuru”.
