Mysuru: Columbia Asia Hospital Mysore in association with Sports and Beyond is organizing a 10km challenge run with the theme ‘Give Way to Save Life’ on February 25. The aim of the campaign is to increase awareness and educate citizens about the importance of giving way to ambulances on the roads. The event will be flagged off at Manasagangotri Clock tower.
International marathon runner O.P Jaisha who was also part of Rio Olympic athletic team is joining hands with Columbia Asia for this campaign to increase awareness and educate citizens about the importance of giving way to ambulances on the roads. She is the current national record holder in the marathon, a distinction she achieved by clocking 2:34:43 at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing. She is also a former national record holder in the 3000 meters steeplechase.
“Columbia Asia Hospital Mysuru is glad to initiate this social awareness drive and we are sure this would bring a major adherence among the citizens of Mysuru. Through this initiative we request everyone to be sensitive towards ambulance, by letting it pass first, and spread awareness to support the cause” said Dr. Uthappa Consultant Nephrologist and Dr Maqsood Neurosurgeon – Columbia Asia Hospital, Mysore.
Patients of Columbia Asia who have gone through joint replacement, Open heart and other major surgeries in Columbia Asia will be a part of this run and will be separately honoured.
The run will have three categories- 10k timed run, 5k open run and a focused 3k run for the kids.
