Mysuru: The family members of those who have given land for the proposed construction of satellite terminal station at Naganahalli will be given railway jobs, said Member of Parliament Pratap Simha.

“For the construction of satellite terminal station, the Railways has earmarked 400 acres of land. Once the acquisition processes are completed and all the land comes under railway, nearly 150 members who are land losers will be given railway jobs. The process to provide job will be taken up once all the formalities including land acquisitions are completed”, added Pratap Simha. He also mentioned that regarding providing jobs for the land losers for setting up an Inland Container Depot at Kadakola, a meeting with the deputy commissioner would be convened at the earliest.

‘Rs 700 Crore for land acquisition’
Pratap Simha also mentioned that though the initial sanction for the proposed satellite terminal station was Rs 789 crore, for providing compensation to farmers itself more than Rs 700 Crore was needed. Hence the total cost for setting up the satellite terminal station may exceed Rs 1000 Crore.

“For industrial growth in Mysuru, all three modes of connectivity air, rail and road are important. The 10-lane highway between Mysuru and Bengaluru, expansion of Mysuru airport including a new terminal, satellite terminal railway station, inland container depot at Kadakola, four-lane highway between Mysuru and Madikeri-all these projects will be completed in two to three years’ time. The work for expansion of Mysuru airport with additional 300 acres, with an overall cost of more than Rs 700 Crore will be taken up in January.

Sewage treatment plant at Kesare
“The sewage water at Kesare is being left to Cauvery river which has resulted in a lot of pollution. Hence at an estimated cost of Rs 18 Crore we will be setting up a sewage treatment plant”, added Pratap Simha.
