Mysuru: H K Lakshman of Maharaja College and Sahana of Teresian First Grade College won the Mysore City Inter-Collegiate 10 Km Cross Country Race in men’s and women’s category respectively while Maharaja College and Teresian College won the team championship title in the categories at a sports event organised by the Department of Physical Education, University of Mysore and Omkarmal Somani College of Education, Mysore here on Thursday, August 23.
In the men’s category, H D Lakshman of Maharaja College completed the race with an impressive timing of 33:11:33 Sec followed by H M Bella Nayaka of Basudev Somani College with a timing of 34:29:17 Sec and H D Rama of Maharaja College, who clocked 35:24:51 Sec with second and third places respectively.
In the women’s section, promising athlete Sahana of Teresian First Grade College clocked 42:39:48 Sec to win the race followed G D Ranjitha of Post Graduate Sports Council, Manasa Gangotri who finished the race with a timing of 44:03:47 Sec and Amrutha of Teresian First Grade College who clocked 45:17:23 Sec to win second and third places respectively.
Earlier both the men’s and women’s cross country race was flagged off by Prabakar, Athletic Coach, SAI and P Krishnaiah, In-charge Director, Department of Physical Education, University of Mysore, in the presence of MCICT Convener Subramanya, Physical Education Director, Omkarmal Somani College of Education, Mysuru. MLA L Nagendra distributed the prizes to the winners.

Yoga Champs
In the Mysore City Inter-Collegiate Yogasana Competition held at Somani B Ed College, recently Subhash came up with an impressive performance to garner 190.05 points to win the first place followed by C Rakshith Kumar from Maharaja College and Rohith from SBRR Mahajana First Grade who secured second and third places with 188 and 187 points respectively.
In the women’s section, Deekshitha pocketed 188 points to win the first place followed by Jahnavi V Madhu of Maharani’s Science College and S Divya from Yuvaraja College who stood second and third respectively.
