KSRTC operates additional buses to Tumakuru for Shivakumara Swamiji’s last rites

Mysuru: Apart from regular buses to Tumakuru, to ease the rush in the wake of demise of 111-year-old Siddganga Seer Shivakumara Swamiji, the KSRTC had arranged for additional 34 more buses to Tumakuru.

R Ashok Kumar, Divisional Controller, Mysuru Rural Division, KSRTC said, “Everyday at an average we operate 79 buses to Tumakuru but on January 21 evening, due to the demise of Shivakumara Swamiji, we had operated additional 16 buses in the evening and on Tuesday morning, apart from our regular buses, we had arranged for additional 18 buses from 6 AM itself.” The officials were personally found supervising at the bus stop. Based on the rush at the bus stand, the authorities were found operating the buses.

Meanwhile, State Sugarcane Farmers Association led by Kuruburu Shantha Kumar has urged the government to name midday meals scheme at its schools after Shivakumara Swamiji who has contributed to the society immensely irrespective of any community, caste or creed. The farmer leaders after offering respects to Shivakumara Swamiji at Kuvempunagar Park, took a decision to this effect. Apart from this, the farmers also requested the state government and the opposition parties to exert more pressure on the central government to award Bharat Ratna to Shivakumara Swamiji.

Girish Baga, a devotee from Mysuru also requested the government including the district authorities to build a statue of Shivakumara Swamiji in Mysuru. TTL Canteen owner after paying respect to the Swamiji, provided free lunch to all its regular customers on Tuesday.

On Monday evening, in many places in Mysuru, including near K R Police station, the devotees of Shivakumara Swamiji arranged for bhajans.

Devotees in almost all areas pay respect to Swamiji
In almost all areas, people irrespective of community joined hands to pay respect to Shivakumara Swamiji. Most of the hostels, institutions, industries, various other organisations too paid their last respects to the Seer.

Most mobile users put up Shivakumara Swamiji’s DP
Many people, irrespective of any community, after coming to know of the the demise of Swamiji, offered their respects to Swamiji by changing the DP of their social media accounts to Shivakumara Swamiji’s picture.
