Mysuru: The astrologers in Kollegal are in great demand this poll season! Politicians, eager to know their future in politics, are consulting the astrologers in Kollegal in droves. The astrologers say that the number of politicians visiting them in Kollegal has increased as compared to the earlier elections.
Speaking to Newskarnataka, Siddarth Sharma, an astrologer from Kollegal said, “When compared to last election, the number of politicians visiting Kollegal has considerably increased. Most of them contact us before they apply for ticket. Most of them meet us in person but some politicians who have earlier visited us, consult us over the phone. Though many politicians believe in astrology and want to know their future, they want o keep this discreet.”
For many decades now, Kollegal, a taluk in Chamarajangar district near Mysuru, is renowned for astrology and black magic. People have strong faith in the fortune read by the astrologers here. The human curiosity in politicians to decipher their future is drawing them towards here.
Another astrologer, Panduranga Joshi said, “People not only believe in science but also in astrology. Due to their faith in the quality astrology, people throng to Kollegal. Many politicians from all over Karnataka have visited Kollegal.” Surely, even our politicians are not immune to superstitions. And what do the politicians want to know? According to the astrologers, the most common question politicians ask is “how is my future in politics?” The other questions often asked are, “Will I get ticket this season?” and “Will I succeed in this election?”
The politicians are also ready to perform the remedies suggested by the astrologers to avert any obstacles in their path. Whatever the astrologers here suggest, the politicians follow every bit of it, the former claimed.
The astrologers say that politicians not only from across the state, but also from different states including Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, visit the taluk to know their fate.
However, the district administration is keeping an eagle eye for instances of black magic. Due to its supervision and series of stringent actions, such incidences have reduced considerably in Kollegal.
