Mysuru: Karnataka has ranked 14th in the notorious “Momo Challenge”, which is a spin-off of sorts of the “Blue Whale Challenge”, in the last three months.
The Momo Challenge is a game that offers tasks online. You receive a link from an unknown number in your WhatsApp inbox or any of your other social media accounts. Once you click the link, different tasks are gradually assigned to you and this finally triggers suicide, said sources.
Currently, the northeastern states viz. Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Meghalaya hold the top five spots respectively.
The police from Kerala, Odisha and West Bengal have already issued warnings against this game.
Do not respond to messages from unknown numbers or do not click on links sent through social media, said the police.
