JDS breaks alliance with BJP in Mysuru ZP; joins hands with Congress

Mysuru: The Janata Dal (S) has decided to part ways with the BJP at the Zilla Panchayat level.

This decision was spelt out by the Tourism Minister Sa Ra Mahesh (JD(S)) on Friday night, “As per the high command decisions of both the parties (Congress and Janata Dal (S)), we will join with the Congress party and share the president and vice president post among ourselves, in which the JDS will be taking the President’s post and Congress, the Vice President’s post

Sa Ra Mahesh, who had said on Friday morning that there will not be any changes in the ZP coalition as they would continue with the BJP, took a u-trun in the night at a press meet. He said that that the allegations relating to ‘Operation Lotus’ and the audio tape row and other political developments prompted the decision.
