Mysuru: Instead of wiping the tears of people, it’s not right on part of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to cry openly, said former minister A Manju.

Addressing media persons at the Press Club here on July 16, he said, “Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who should be wiping the tears of the people in the state is, instead, crying in the public, that too blaming Congress for the same which is not fair. It shows his helplessness. Congress has given complete freedom to him but it’s really unfortunate that he is often found blaming the party that has supported him. Congress has not given him poison but power to deliver and support to govern the state for another 5 years. The coalition government is like a family. The chief minister should take everybody into confidence and move forward. Just by crying in the public, the problem will not be solved. Who can’t govern a state will shed tears. This is not right. Kumarswamy’s behaviour is bringing disrepute to Congress and the leaders of the party.”

‘Writing letters to the government is not a crime’

“If there are any suggestions from senior leaders, Chief Minister Kumaraswamy should accept and welcome them. However, he is not doing that and instead, is creating a problem. When Siddaramaiah wrote a letter to him, instead of welcoming it, he is unnecessarily creating problem which is not fair at all. When Siddaramaiah was the chief minister, he received many letters from the former prime minister and Janata Dal (S) Supremo H D Devegowda. However, at any point in time, he didn’t expose the letter or go public about it. Instead, he welcomed the suggestions and advice with an open heart. Kumaraswamy and Devegowda should take everybody into confidence and run the government”, added Manju.
