Mysuru: Infosys foundation chief Sudha Murthy will be conferred with an honorary doctorate at the 100th convocation of the University of Mysore (UoM).
However, it is reported that she is unable to attend the convocation scheduled for October 19 at 11 am. The University will instead, confer the award on her at her residence.
It may be recalled that the university which commenced its education journey in the year 1916 is celebrating its 100th convocation on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver the convocation address via a virtual platform.
According to the university VC G Hemantha Kumar, 29,018 students will be awarded various degrees in the convocation. Among them 18,344 are women. 654 scholars will be awarded their PhDs.
Only 100 student achievers will be allowed to attend the convocation due to Covid 19 restrictions.
