hiranayya8April13Mysore :  Veteran theatrical personality and actor Master Hirannaiah has said that he considered himself as a permanent  opposition leader as he has been criticizing the corrupt since the past 60 years.

Participating in a Lions Club programme here, he said  there is a need for each and every Indian to fight to bring back the nearly Rs 1,75,000 crore black money stashed in Swiss Bank. Blaming politicians and bureaucrats for the same, he said the apathy of the public is mainly responsible for the stashing of increasing amounts of money in Swiss Bank.

“ When our population was just 33 crores we managed to drive the British out of India. Now we are 120 crore strong. Why cannot we  bring back the black money into the country,” Master Hirannaiah questioned.

He called upon the people to be cultured and patriotic. He also recounted an incident  pertaining to Swami Vivekananda when the latter had been to Japan and when  he refused to have dinner  arranged by the organisers. The organisers then entrusted the responsibility of offering plantains to Swami Vivekananda to a boy. The boy arrived at Swami Vivekananda’s room at midnight with a plantain and when the latter questioned why he took all the pains, the boy said  he did so  to see to it that Swami Vivekananda on his return to India would not comment that he couldn’t get even a plantain to eat in Singapore.

Everyone should develop such a patriotic spirit, Master Hirannaiah said.
