Mysuru: A 20-year-old girl is understood to have been killed and burnt by her family members in a possible honour killing case at Gollanabeedu College of  H D Kote on February 21.

Sushma (20), daughter of Kumar is the deceased.

Sushma’s love affair with a Dalit youth reportedly, led to her killing. She was force-fed poison and later burnt to death in the field which belonged to the family.

Sushma was in love with the youth from nearby Alanahalli village, since one year. After her parents came to know about her affair, they forced her to drop out of college and compelled her to stay at home.

However, she continued to meet the Dalit youth without the knowledge of her family members. Her action enraged the family members, who eventually plotted her killing.

Police have arrested her father Kumar and Sub-Inspector Ashok is questioning few more in connection with the incident.
