Mysuru: In a sudden development, JDS state president H Vishwanath met with BJP state vice president V Srinivasa Prasad, a prominent Dalit leader and staunch Siddaramaiah critic. Vishwanath met with Prasad at his residence in Jayalaxmipuram of the city.
Although both the leaders stated that it was courtesy meeting, the development left the Congress, an alliance partner of the JDS, red-faced.
This meeting comes amidst JDS leaders’ statement that in Mysuru, party workers voted for BJP candidate Pratap Simha in the recently concluded Karnataka Lok Sabha polls. Higher education minister G T Devegowda has made it clear that his voters supported the BJP instead of thee Congress due to local level politics.
Reports are also surfacing that the Congress high command has proposed replacing H D Kumaraswamy with Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister of the state and appointing H D Revanna as the Deputy Chief Minister.
