Mysuru: “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s defeat in Chamundeshwari constituency is certain as people are waiting for the earliest opportunity to defeat him for his misrule”, said Janata Dal (Secular) leader and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) G T Devegowda.

Upset after being left out of a government programme, GTD accused the CM of throwing away all the constitutional norms. “The Sadhana Samavesha convention organised in his constituency appeared like Congress party programme instead of a government programme. CM’s son and confidante Marigowda along with several others were involved in the ground breaking ceremony on February 8 for various development works, despite not having the powers to do so,” GTD alleged. By leaving aside the area legislator in government programmes, CM has thrown away all the constitutional norms, GTD accused.

Warning of moving a privilege motion, GTD said the CM had given room to an unhealthy trend, despite harping on protecting constitution at several fora. The deputy commissioner and the Election Commission (EC) will be informed of “violations”, asking them to take serious action, he added. At the same time, EC will be asked to appoint strict officials to prevent malpractices during the forthcoming state polls, he said.

He termed special officers Ramaiah and Kempaiah as “collection agents” and charged CM of changing 5 inspectors during the last 5 years. GTD also accused CM of targeting him in KHB case and his men by falsely implicating them and categorising them as rowdy-sheeters.

Preferring Prime Minister Modi over Siddaramaiah, GTD made several other accusations against CM and vowed to hand him over a certain defeat.
