Mysuru: After double-decker bus was a big hit during last Dasara celebration, the state government in its budget announced Rs five crore for purchase of six new double-decker buses, four for Mysuru and two for Hampi. The public and tourists have welcomed the government’s decision in announcing double-decker bus to Mysuru, which is also called Heritage City.
During the Dasara festival, the state government had introduced double-decker to allow tourists to savour the architectural beauties dotting the city, mainly in the city centre. Now, it has decided to get the tourist hub six double deckers, investing Rs five crore to promote Mysuru on the lines of London Big Bus for sightseeing of famous tourist places in Mysuru.
Speaking to Newskarnataka Prashanth, President of Mysore Travel Association said, “We welcome state government’s decision in a sanctioning double-decker bus to Mysuru which is famous in London. The initiative is good but we should see how far it is going to be implemented. The government should take steps to implement the said project at the earliest”. He also mentioned Mysuru, which is a heritage place with many palaces, open buses will add to the experience of sightseeing.
