Mysuru: A group of miscreants allegedly, raped a girl, right in front of her lover here on Wednesday, May 8 night.
This incident is reported from a remote area near Lingambudhi Lake at around 10 PM.
According to police sources, the couple was having a private time near the lake, when a group of youth arrived there. They had thrown a stone on the boy’s leg and also hit his head with a stone.
After injuring the boy, they reportedly used the opportunity and brutally gang raped the girl.
The victim was rushed to the Cheluvamba Hospital, where the doctors confirmed her condition to be serious.
The victim is a native of H D Kote Handpost but residing at K G Koppal of Mysuru.
A case has been filed in the Mysuru South Police Station. The police have formed three special teams to nab the accused.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Amith Singh has visited the spot and inspected the crime scene.
