Mysuru: On world mother’s day a free medical check-up camp – ‘Healthy mother’ was organised by Apoorva Sneha Balaga, Lions Club Nisarga and Lions Club Mayuri in collaboration with Narayana Multispecialty Hospital.
The medical camp was conducted at Shri Kanaka Mandir in Janatha Nagar here. More than 300 people participated and checked their BP, and did tests like ECG, ECHO and GRBS. Expert doctors were available for consultation.
The medical camp was inaugurated by Nagendra, MLA of the area. Speaking on the occasion Nagendra said that mother’s day was not just a celebration. It is the celebration of a mother giving birth to a child. Even if we reach greater heights in our life we still remain as a child to our mother. Nowadays people spend a lot of time on social media and neglect talking to parents. If we speak to them nicely, care for them they would be healthy and spend their old age happily. Our parents give us education and help us gain good employment but after that children send them to old age homes.
Veteran social worker K Raghuram Vajapeyi said “ Our youngsters should stop following western culture, one can achieve and earn only if he has health. Yoga, Dhyana Homa, Havana, fresh air and music improve health. Senior citizens should participate in medical check-ups and understand their health problems so that they can take care of their health better. Growing more trees also help in gaining good health”.
