Four students meet watery grave after writing preparatory exams

Hunsur: Four students of St. Joseph’s School drowned in Hairige lake on March 6. Two bodies have been recovered and the search is on to trace the remaining two.

Sunil, Son of Ramesh in Heggandur village and Ajay, Yehswanth and Dhananjay, all residents of Hunsur town are the deceased SSLC students.

Locals noticed clothes, mobile phones wrist watches lying on the lake edge and immediately informed the police. Fire force personnel and local swimmers assisted rural police in extracting the bodies of Yeshwanth and Dhananjay by late evening. The search to trace two more bodies was suspended due to poor light.

The mishap occurred, when students after writing their preparatory exams, went for a swim in the lake.
