Independent Corporators meet former CM: the troubleshooter

Independent corporators, including Pailwan Srinivas and Shivakumar, who belonged to the camp of JD(S) rebel leader K. Harish Gowda and independent Corporators K.V. Sridhara, who was denied the Congress ticket were among the visitors to the ex-CM at his residence to discuss the Mayoral posts even though the Mayoral poll schedule is yet to be announced.

This meeting is of great importance as Congress is trying to raise its numbers in order to bargain with JD(S) for the Mayor and deputy Mayor posts. With this Congress now has 19 corporators and JD(S) has 18 in the 65-member Civic body, they are also working on a coalition for the MCC.

When asked about the meeting Siddharamaiah maintained that he was the only trouble-shooter in Congress and as such is the reason for him being appointed as the Chairman of the Co-ordination Committee of the JD(S)-Congress Coalition Government. He also told the presspersons that the coalition would rule the state for the next five years with no Legislators from Congress trying to dislodge the government.
