Mysuru: An FIR has been lodged against four members, including former CM and JDS-Congress government coalition committee President Siddaramaiah at the Laxmipuram police station here on Saturday, June 23, regarding the alleged encroachment of land case.

Police have lodged FIRs against then-City Improvement Trust Board (CITB) president C. Basavegowda, Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) former president D. Druvakumar and commissioner P.S. Kantharaju.

Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeshwara Rao informed that case will be filed and investigation will be carried out as per the direction of the court. The report will be submitted to the court.

RTI activist N. Gangaraju had requested the court to act against the accused. The complainant accused that Siddaramaiah had encroached the denotified land and constructed a house. There was corruption in giving an alternate site to the landowner, he complained. After a review of the petition, 2nd Senior Grade Civil Court had directed the police to register a complaint and submit an investigation report, on June 4.
